This cover is designed to protect transporters of dangerous goods and potential pollutants from the extensive costs of pollution and rehabilitation following an environmental incident.
Environmental Cover (Pollution of Spillage Clean-up)
The storage of fuels, chemicals and other potential pollutants presents a unique set of environmental contamination risks. Claims of this nature can easily exceed R1 million for an average sized site and may take years to complete. The owner/operator will be held liable for the clean up and rehabilitation costs. The government may fine up to R10 million and/or 10 years in jail for non-compliance following an incident.

Contingency Solution
This is specifically designed to ensure the consignor in the event of an environmental incident, involving a contractor or sub contractor of the insured.
LDV Solution
This cover is specifically designed for small operators (vehicle mass under 3500kg) handling dangerous goods dealing with exempted quantities.
Sub-Contractor Solutions
This cover is specifically designed for transporters making use of contractors or sub contractors to transport their dangerous goods.
Riot & Strike Solutions
The Transport Clean up policy will respond to a claim in the event of riots and strikes.
Dry Non-Hazardous Solutions
Cover for the clean up of non-hazardous cargo (not UN listed products).
Side Tank Solution
This covers the side tank(self powered) diesel spill clean up and rehabilitation costs.
Harbor Solutions
It covers any spillages as a direct result of the loading/offloading activities from vessel to the insured vehicle whilst in the harbor/port or the harbors edge (quayside).
The Underground Storage Tank Cover
This is designed to protect owners and operators of underground storage tanks from the extensive costs of pollution and rehabilitation following an environmental incident.
Wholesale Solution
The insured who is not the owner of the vehicle being utilized to transport the dangerous goods the have purchased, nor the owner of the premises where the product is stored. The insured will not have custody of the dangerous goods product and will utilize specified contractors.
Third Party Liability Solutions
This cover is specifically designed to offer protection against third party insurance claims, resulting from injuries and damage to people and/or property as a direct result of an environmental incident.
